There is no doubt that blogs are the IN thing today in the online world. Wherever you surf, blogs are sprouting everywhere like mushrooms, whether they are used for personal or business purposes. But for starters, what is a blog anyway? It is a diary where you can post your thoughts or feelings or whatnots, except that it is online and the public can read it. But enough of that. Gone were the days when they were used solely for personal reasons. On the business side, they can be a very useful tool to boost your business, and to keep your customers updated on the products and information you have. But if you are still struggling to catch up on the latest thing these days and you think you are not much of a great writer either, let me give you some useful subjects you can write about to give your customers a lot of reasons to keep coming back to your site.

1. News. Okay, so maybe that is basic. After all, your company or business is the reason you put up a blog, right? Write about the products you sell. Give them a bit of the benefits your potential customers might get for buying them, with a link back to your main site to read the entire sales letter. You can also write about updates to your product. Post news about the industry you are in. If you are selling products that help people get better search engine rankings, write about search engine news. Or, if you or your service has been featured on TV, papers, or notable websites, write about it. Do not forget to post seminars or gatherings where you have been invited.

2. History of your business. Maybe this one has already been in your main website, but who cares? People forget it. They come and go and chances are, when they visit your site, they do not read it. Write about how you began, the reputation and achievements you have earned, and the accolades or awards you received, with a link back your site. That way you will let them know why they should buy from you, and that you are a real person who is building a reputable business. Add some employee’s profile if you have someone working for you, too. If you have nice traffic or site stats, that is also worth mentioning.

3. Customer’s feedback. When a raving customer emails you about how your product has helped him, share it in your blog. You are giving your visitors a compelling reason to buy from you.

4. Site of the week / month. Mention a site that does not compete with you but complements to your won. Explain to them why you like it, and why it deserves your accolade.

5. Contests, surveys, trivia, questionnaires. If you are running a contest, post it in your blog to encourage visitors to join. Get their attention by including the prizes, a bit of the rules, with a link back to your site for more information regarding it. Or put a survey. That could give you information regarding the product you are selling, as to how you could develop it further.

6. Tip of the day. Write about a new tactic you developed or something you learned and perfected.

So there. Whatever your business is, no doubt there is always something you will definitely want to write about. Give it a try. And it will reward you soon.

Make money with blog!

O.K a blog is a step down from a website. It is formatted different from a website and is a lot less complicated. There are many ways to earn from it. You can put Google AdSense, sign up for affiliate programs such as clickbank and CJ just to name a few. There are plenty of affiliate programs out there. Sometimes you will notice at the bottom of a page it will say something like “become a affiliate”.That’s just another way to earn. Also you can do reviews to earn fast cash to your paypal.

There are a couple of companies that I am signed up with such as payperpost.com, smorty.com, loudlaunch.com and a new one called linkworth.com. Now these are all good companies to earn from but their main concern for their bloggers is A) The content must be original B) The higher the blogs Google and Alexa ranks are the more opportunities that blogger will get.

Sometimes if you have a good page rank on your blog you can sell text space. But like I said you must have a good Google PR. One of those companies that allows you to do that is text-links.com. This is a goodcompany for those who have a good PR.

So you now know where to get associated with these programs and what you need, you now need to know how. Like I said a key factor is Google and Alexa PR. It is not always easy to do this depending on your competition. Irecommend visiting my blog http://www.10makemoney.blogspot.com. I have written a couple of articles explaining some steps to promoting and increasing your ranks. Now there will be a lot more articles on this blog. It is fairly new so be patient. But I think there is still some valuable content related and directed to traffic marketing.

The trick to earning at your maximum potential is to get higher rankings in search engines and Alexa. Advertisers determine their prices by your blog space traffic and importance.

In order for you to increase your rankings you should link to important websites on Google and ask if they would give a link back. The more links the higher the rankings. For you to increase your Alexa ranking you should first convince all of yourvisitors to download the Alexa toolbar. Second you should put the widget in your site html.

If you can successfully achieve these high rankings then you can earn decent money with your blog.

Have you been making handcrafted jewelry for so long that you have no place to put your new designs? Have you given so much of your work away that you know it’s time to actually buy gifts rather than make them? Do you find yourself unable to resist buying new jewelry-making magazines, and then rushing home to make every design in them? If you answered yes to these questions, then you are a handcrafted jewelry addict and are in desperately in need of help! Sell all your existing jewelry so you’ll have the room and extra money to make even more jewelry!

Assigning prices to your jewelry can be fun once you know the basics of how to do it. Use these three steps as you guideline.

· Add the costs of the materials and tools for the pieces you want to sell.

· Pay yourself for your time and labor. Your hourly rate need not be extravagant. To start, $10 an hour, although it may seem low, is a good place to start. YOu can give yourself a raise once your business is off the ground.

· Since you work from your home, your overhead expenses may not be much, but don’t ignore them. Overhead expenses include a business phone line, costs of utilities rental fees for booths at crafting fairs and shows, and web site rental and maintenance fees if you decide to have a web site or open an e-Bay shop. The best way to estimate these costs is to allow one quarter of the sum of your other costs.

From hereon, keep records of all of the above expenses, plus any extra costs, such as shipping costs on orders for supplies, office equipment and business-related software . Keep all invoices and receipts, and be sure to record your time and wage for each jewelry item.

You may think selling your jewelry means opening a shop, but this need not be so. In fact, it’s rally not a good idea to start your business from outside your home, considering the enormous overhead and the time it takes to build a customer base that will support the shop and begin to turn a profit. In the meantime, here are a few ways to get your business off the ground, working from your own home.

Host a Home Jewelry Party: You can have a jewelry party in your own home or ask a friend, neighbor or family member to host one for you. Have it a time convenient for all the guests you intend to invite, maybe a Saturday afternoon, or an evening during the week. Play games where guests can win door prizes, serve light refreshments, and show your jewelry. Pass the jewelry around so guest can get a good look at it and allow them to try it on, providing mirrors so they can see how different pieces look on them. In this friendly and comfortable environment, you are sure to make some good sales and profits!

Crafts Fairs: Crafts fairs are one of the most popular and lucrative ways for artisans to sell their jewelry. Through meeting other people involved in the business of crafting and selling jewelry, you can become part of a vast network in which you can learn and share new design ideas, pricing changes and the latest fashions in jewelry and accessories. Your customers can also give you a better idea of what to make and stock in your inventory. Often, they will ask questions, concerning whether you make certain designs or settings, or if you’ve ever considering using gemstones or other materials for your jewelry. By making the most of these excellent sources of information and contacts, your handcrafted jewelry business is off to a terrific start!

Online Jewelry Shops are relatively low-overhead/high exposure venues for selling jewelry without leaving your home. You can join an online shops network that specializes in jewelry and accessories, or build your own web site shop. Online auctions are immensely popular, and generate tremendous exposure! E-Bay shops are one of the most cost-effective ways of displaying your jewelry, especially since e-Bay has such a vast customer base.

Home jewelry parties, virtual shops and auctions and crafts fairs are the best ways to build your home-based jewelry business. You can try concentrating on just one, or combine two or all three venues for maximum profit. Once you learn how to sell your jewelry, you may still want to open a brick and mortar shop or boutique, but then again, you may be so hooked on the fun, excitement and excellent profits you can earn by using the above methods that you may never consider having a “real” shop again!

A Beginner’s Guide to Selling on eBay

Posted by admin in June 9th 2008

Loading ... Loading ...

You’ve been buying on eBay for a while and naturally, your thoughts turn to selling your own items. Yet, you’re not quite sure where to start. First, you will need to sign up as a seller and provide all the information asked for and a credit card number. Once that is complete, you’re ready to begin listing your items. Below, I’ve outline ten tips that will help make your auctions a success and reap you better profits from your sales.

1. Your title should be authoritative and tell exactly what the item is. Instead of saying Turkey Platter, list specific info such as Turkey Platter, stoneware, late 70’s and maker. You are limited to around 80 characters for your title, so be sure to choose it wisely. Avoid words like ‘look’, ‘must see’ etc., as most experienced eBay shoppers don’t pay attention to them.

2. Choose the category for your listing carefully. With hundred of different categories to choose from, this can be a bit difficult to determine. If you feel your item fits in more than one, feel free to select a second category. More than one category does incur extra fees, so be aware of that as you list.

3. A picture is worth a thousand words in an auction listing. All items need at least one picture. Higher priced items need more than one. Use a good quality digital camera or a scanner if the item is flat. Proof your pictures to make sure they are clear and crisp, crop where needed.

4. List all the details of your item in the description box. Be sure to point out any flaws in the item. Think of any keywords that you would look for if you were searching for the item and include those in the description. Also list what payments methods you will accept, how long the buyer has to get payment to you and what shipping methods you will use.

5. Determine the lowest amount of money you will take for your item and begin the bidding at that amount. Think about using a ‘Buy It Now’ price if you’re willing to let the item go for another few dollars above your opening price. Avoid using ‘reserve’ auctions as many eBay buyers will skip over them as not worth the time and effort.

6. Choose your listing time wisely. Many sellers feel that eBay has a higher traffic ratio on the weekends. Some feel that Sunday afternoons (between church times) are best, while others close their auctions late on Friday or Saturday night.

7. Answer any questions that you receive from potential buyers promptly. Some buyers may ask for a clarification on your listing or additional pictures. Be ready to provide them the information they request.

8. After the auction has ended, make sure you correspond with your buyer. eBay will send you notice to your email account of how much the item sold for and the email address of the high bidder. Keep the lines of communication open until everything about the transaction is complete.

9. After receiving payment for your item, ship it promptly by the stated method. Send an email to the buyer to let them know their item is on its way. You can leave feedback at this point or wait until the item is received and the buyer posts feedback for you.

10. If you plan to do a lot of selling on eBay, you may want to consider signing up for a PayPal account. Many eBay buyers only purchase items from those sellers that do accept PayPal as a payment method. It is free to sign up and all you will need is a checking account.

Selling on eBay can become addictive and for some a very lucrative venture. If you find that you enjoy the online garage sale, you may want to download eBay’s Turbo Lister to help make listing your items much faster. Good luck with your eBay selling experience.

Top 3 Movies Of All Time !

Posted by admin in June 9th 2008

Loading ... Loading ...

There are some movies that each and every one of us has seen at least once. They have made a very strong impression on us and, no matter how long it has been since they were released, we would still want to watch them when we have the time. These movies are great achievements of the film industry that will never be old and boring to any of us.

The Godfather seems to be the movie leading the list of all time favorite films. It is based on the novel by Mario Puzo, called Mafia. The first part of the The Godfather trilogy pictures Don Vito Corleone, head of the Corleone crime family, struggle with the realities of an ever changing world. He falls foul of Sollozzo’s backers the Tattaglia family, because he refuses to work with drug dealer Virgil Sollozzo in an attempt to push heroin in New York.

Michael, as the son of Vito, was not involved in the family business, but still, he was close to being killed. His father Vito was wounded in this attempted assassination. Michael is sent to Sicily and returns after his brother Sonny is executed by the rival Barzini family. Michael finally gets to be the head of the family. Vito Corleone dies of a heart attack. Michael plans for the murder of the heads of the other families to take place during the baptism ceremony of his nephew. And all this in revenge for the attacks on his family. The film also presents the execution of Michael’s brother-in-law, Carlo Rizzi, whom he suspected of being involved in Sonny’s death.

The second part of The Godfather trilogy pictures the adolescent life of Don Vito Corleone in Sicily and New York during the early 20th century, explaining the way he has managed to become the Mafia Don.

Another very important movie of all times is The Shawshank Redemption, which is based on a novella written by the famous author called Steven King. The story speaks about a successful banker wrongly convicted for the murder of his wife and her lover. His name is Andy Dufresne. He is sent to the maximum security Shawshank Prison to serve two life sentences. There he meets Ellis Boyd “Red” Redding, a prisoner who helps him get used to prison life.

So, these are the top 3 movies of all times. I haven’t told their whole story, because there might be a slight chance that you have not yet seen these movies. I will leave you to discovering the magic of these great films!

Phishing Scam !

Posted by admin in June 9th 2008

Loading ... Loading ...

A lot has been written about all known kinds of scams including “Phishing”. But criminals keep on throwing their nets and having quite a good take. Therefore we have to continue exposing the phishing attempts. And since “it is better to see once than hear 10 times” I want to share with you 2 emails that I have recently received.
These are really similar letters (in fact it is almost the same one with tiny differences). The letter(s) are as follows:

Subjects:
1. We were unable to authorize charges to the Credit Card Number you provided.
2. Your Amazon Account will be Closed!

“Dear AOL Client, (Dear Client)
As part of our security measures, we regularly screen activity in our network.

We recently noticed the following issue on your account: A recent review of your transaction history determined that we require an update of your account in order to provide you with secure services.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

You must click the link below and fill in the form on the following page to complete the verification process.

http://webmail.aol.com/mail/
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html)

We thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Please understand that this is a security measure intended to help protect you and your account.

Sincerely,
AOL (Amazon) Billing Department”

As said, I clicked the link and saw a “secure” form asking for my name, address, credit card details and so on. It is clear that filling out this form would cause me a substantial financial loss.

But how do I know that these letters are phishing? Simple: I am not and have never been a client of AOL.
And how would l know if it weren’t, say, a letter “from my bank”?

In reality, it is very difficult to reveal a scam without special knowledge. But a normal person cannot be expected to know all the technical details. Besides,
even a great amount of knowledge doesn’t always help to prevent deception.
As in O’Henry’s story “The Gentle Grafter. Modern Rural Sports”, a most technologically educated person can be duped by cunning swindlers playing on the person’s primary instincts and emotions.

So I will not elaborate on the techie methods. I would only like to note that the links in the letters are spoofed: in the letter, the “Amazon” link location is in India!

What I recommend is to be armed with COMMON SENSE and follow a number of IRON rules:
- Legitimate companies do not send impersonal letters (they know your name/ID, while the phishers - do not);
- Legitimate companies do not ask for sensitive information via email;
- NEVER give your personal or financial information to an organization that you don’t know;
- NEVER give your sensitive information if you have not initiated the interaction (since you cannot know who the correspondents really are);
- NEVER send via email your personal or financial information (it is not a secure method);
- Regularly check your bank account and credit card statements;
If you received a phishing letter forward it to spam@uce.gov.
Be careful !

More About Customer Service !

Posted by admin in June 9th 2008
1 Star2 Stars3 Stars4 Stars5 Stars (No Ratings Yet)
Loading ... Loading ...

21st Century customers are the ones every organization serves nowadays. They come in numerous variations, be they called clients or be they called patients. Customers are the ones being asked to accept and adopt an idea, an information, and finally a product or service. The customers are the the potential and current users of any organization’s output. The organizations couldn’t survive without their clients or patients, and customers , on the other hand, couldn’t live without the services and products the companies can provide. It’s a two way road, so to say.

The customers usually put in their money and sometimes their time and effort. What they get in return is a service or product, and even more, they are being asked to accept an idea, information, or changes, policies and procedures. The business owners and their advisors are also customers to each other, as they are all customers to their associates, customers, staff , family, close friends and acquaintances.

You can say that each and everyone of them is living on the other people’s time, money and effort. So , depending on how much money the others are willing to spend, you can determine if the customers think they are getting good service or not. The most important thing is to keep up the good service in order to have a good business.

Another way of maintaining good business is to not to charge the customers as much for what they are getting or to give them a little more than they think they are paying for. Interesting techniques, isn’t it?!

This is very useful because the customers always want added-value for themselves. And they are not the only ones to desire this. Management wants added-value from their employees and employees want added-value from their management. Added-value from both management and employees is also required from the firm’s, organization’s, or practice’s potential and current customers, clients and patients.

In fact good service and good business are based on helping people spend their time, effort or money in a very efficient way. The 21st century will be owned by those individuals, firms, businesses or organizations that carry on the tradition of these all.
Customers must always be satisfied, so keeping up the good business is a matter of keeping the clients or patients think that they are getting all they can wish for for the money and time they have put in.
